What an Inclusive Workplace means to me

“I am physically challenged and visually impaired. Finding employment is always a challenge. A lot of organisations claim they are an inclusive workplace just because they hire persons with disabilities. But it’s so much more that. An inclusive workplace means building an inclusive workplace culture and making adjustments to the job scope to fit their staff needs. Organisations should make an effort to understand us and not assume they know what’s best. I am not asking for special treatment. All I want is a little kindness, consideration and willingness to accommodate me so that I can do my job better.”
