“Everyone has their own learning methods, and I ensure that I tailor my teaching to match my student’s preferred style of learning.

My name is Shakthi, and I have been with AWWA for the past five years. Day in and day out, I am surrounded by a bunch of energetic kiddos who are always eager to discover a little more about the world. I find it a joy to see my students learn and grow each day at the centre. The satisfaction of witnessing them overcome their obstacles is truly invaluable.

I am an advocate for continuous learning. As such, I signed up for a basic sign language course so that I could communicate with clients and caregivers with hearing difficulties. I believe that nothing is unattainable. So long as I can empower my clients and caregivers with the knowledge to lead independent and dignified lives, I am willing to go the extra mile to actualise it.

Among my colleagues, I actively share my ideas and experiences openly so that everyone can benefit from each other’s experiences. Sometimes, my colleagues’ perspective holds the key to the problem that I am facing. Through such collaborative sharing, we help each other improve.

Every day is an exciting day because every day presents an opportunity to change the lives of others.” – Shakthi, Teacher at AWWA Early Intervention Centre.
