I can vividly recall the day where my son, Sabre, and I hopped on the cable car at Sentosa, en route to visit the SEA Aquarium. Why is this so special to me? That is because that was my son, Sabre’s first time visiting SEA Aquarium”, reminisced Elmie.
Elmie, a barber by profession, is no different from other dads. There are no mountains too high that he can’t scale, just to bring a smile on Sabre’s face. “My son is my greatest motivation in life. I have made many sacrifices for him, and as long as he is happy, I am happy. What I enjoy most being a father? It is simply every moment where I get to spend with him”.
Every morning, Elmie makes it a point to send his son to-and-fro school despite having to attend to his customers at his barbershop. Above all, it is Sabre’s presence at the barbershop that Elmie treasures. Watching his son play while Elmie works bring great comfort to his heart.
When asked what kind of man would Elmie want Sabre to remember him as, this was what Elmie shared, “I want him to remember me as a supportive and strong father. I want him to grow up well, to be a good person, and to have a good job so he can live a purposeful life”.
