Dr Chen Shiling has served as a member of the AWWA Programmes & Services Committee since 2019 and currently serves on the Board of AWWA. She is a physician with special interests in dementia and adults with Intellectual Disabilities (ID) and is deeply passionate about improving the lives of both populations.
Shiling is the founder of the registered charity ‘Happee Hearts Movement’, which runs IDHealth, a healthcare service that advocates and provides for the health needs of adults with ID and their caregivers. She also works with Khoo Teck Puat Hospital in supporting persons with dementia and their families.
Shiling is currently a member of several organisations, including: Dementia Singapore’s Management Committee, chairing their Programmes and Services Sub-Committee; MINDS’ Community-based Support Services Advisory Committee, serving on their Healthcare Working Group; the APSN Programmes and Services Committee; the Ministry of Social and Family Development’s Adult Protection Team; and the 4th Enabling Masterplan (EMP2030) Steering Committee. She is also on the board of Mamre Oaks Ltd, a centre for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
