Muhammad Akhbar – Senior Driver at AWWA Rehab and Day Care Centre

“Hi, I’m Muhammad Akhbar, Senior Driver from AWWA Rehab and Day Care Centre, and I am responsible for the transportation of our Health and Senior Care Services. I am the bridge between AWWA and our clients. From clients and staff transportation to dispatching of official documents, I plan my routes prior to departure to ensure that every trip runs like clockwork.
I am always in the presence of my clients – from the time I start work, till the time I turn off my vehicle’s engine. I get to participate in their conversations, hear the stories of their yesteryear, and most importantly, forge new friendships with my clients. One unique trait about myself – I have almost all my clients’ addresses at my fingertips. Just by looking at their faces, I am able to map my route and bring them around safely!
AWWA has opened my eyes to see that many seniors in the community require help or assistance one way or another. Being able to give back to the community, and doing it every day as my job, I count myself blessed”.
