Meet Julie (right), daughter of Mdm Raminah. When attending to and caring for her mother’s needs and well-being, Julie ensures that she puts her heart and soul into doing so. Due to Mdm Raminah’s health conditions, in March 2020, Julie made a bold move – setting aside her career aspirations to become her mother’s full-time caregiver.

The value of filial piety is not new to Julie as she takes pride in ensuring that her mother is well taken care of. Julie’s love and care for her mum are evident when they occasionally show up at AWWA Rehab and Day Care Centre (RDCC) wearing matching outfits and masks! Her infectious laughter and cheerful outlook have always brought joy and positivity to not only her mother, but to staff of RDCC as well!

With whatever she has, Julie strives to provide the best for her mother. When asked if she would have chosen a different path, Julie shared, “I have never once regretted my decision of becoming my mother’s full-time caregiver”.
