Meet Molly, Jasmine, and Alicia (left to right) who have been staying active and keeping their friendship alive this challenging period!
Their friendship first formed when they attended ukulele lessons together 3 years ago. Since then, the lovely trio have been great friends. They spend time chatting, picking up new skills and exercising together.
Jasmine chanced upon our Happy Live post on Facebook and attended her first session. After having so much fun, she encouraged Molly and Alicia to join her for the subsequent sessions.
“Happy Live gave me an experience to learn technology! The sessions are also very interactive because you can learn, watch and communicate with other participants. This is my first online workout, and I am so thankful Jasmine introduced this to me.” -Molly
“I like that Happy Live helps to train our mind and body. It is different from other exercise sessions as you get to learn more about dementia. Happiness is exercising together with your friends and now, I have something to look forward to every week!” -Jasmine
“Having an online workout means that I can do them at my own pace and time. At the end, there are some interesting tips about dementia which I find very helpful. It is good to exercise to refresh your mind and to keep up the friendship!” -Alicia
Happy Exercise is a hybrid physical-cognitive set of exercises that is elder-friendly and it is designed to be preventative against dementia. It helps as part of the ABCD Strategy – Activities, Brain Stimulation, Connectedness, Diet.
