AWWA to me is…“family”.
Huixia is AWWA’s Director of Family Services, reporting to CEO Karthik. In her current position, Huixia leads AWWA’s Family Service Centre and Transitional Shelter teams, which support vulnerable individuals and families with complex needs in achieving independence and stability. Having spent close to two decades with AWWA, Huixia remains unwaveringly committed to connecting with individuals and families, and supporting them as they look to rise above their challenges.
An avid contributor to the social service sector, Huixia’s involvement as member and participant on numerous committees helps to shape and review best practices. Huixia’s participation (past and present) has seen her be a part of:
- People’s Association Youth Executive Committee
- Social Service Leaders Exchange Programme
- Singapore Association of Social Workers
- National Heart Centre Medifund Committee
- Singapore Association of Social Workers’ Housing Support Network Group
In recognition of her leadership and contributions, Huixia was selected as a participant of the “NCSS 40-under-40” programme by the National Council of Social Service in 2019.
Huixia holds a Master of Education (Counselling), a Bachelor of Arts (Social Work), and a Diploma in Clinical Supervision.
