To kick start large-scale advocacy efforts within the social service sector, AWWA held the inaugural AIES. Titled Engaging Neurodiverse Learners, the session was fronted by world-renowned occupational therapist, Ms Kim Barthel, and was attended by over 600 people. A panel discussion that comprised Kim Barthel, Dr. Joanna Tay-Lim, Lecturer, Early Childhood and Special Needs Education, National Institute of Education, and Ms Serene Peh, Director, Building Planning and Universa Design Department, building and Construction Authority concluded the session. Associate Professor Muhammad Faishal Ibrahim, Senior Parliamentary Secretary (SPS), Ministry of Education (MOE) and Ministry of Social and Family Development (MSF) was the Guest of Honour for the event.
